*Why do we have test-only? |
Smog is a serious health hazard contributing to thousands of deaths each year in California.Studies have shown that motor vehicles are responsible for half the air pollution in the state. California has been air quality tested and large portions were found to have either "severe" or "extreme" ozone pollution problems. These areas are classified as "Enhanced area". If your local smog shop uses a "dyno" (treadmill for cars) chances are that you reside in a "Enhanced area" and and your vehicle may be subject to a test-only inspection someday. Test-Only program allows us to have greater understanding and identification of vehicles with emission problems in a more controlled enviroment |

*"How can You benefit from your vehicle being serviced at a test-only station?" |
Since all Test only stations only inspect and certify vehicles we have no incentive to fail vehicles and generate income from unneeded repairs.In fact, most failures Eco Smog has seen are from other shops not properly pre-conditioning (warming-up) the vehicle for the test.Our Facility is designed to be efficient so you can get your smog in about 10-15 minutes instead of having to leave your car for the day.If it is neccasary to leave your vehicle we have 16 spaces allocated for our customers. |

"What if I were to Fail?" |
This is probably the most frequently asked question at any shop. Did you know the state has a program just for repairing your vehicle? Being a "test-only" vehicle you automatically qualify for a co-pay of 100 dollars with for repairs up to 500 dollars by a station participating in the "consumer assistance program" (CAP).And if you are financially eligable your co-pay is only 20 dollars! THIS IS OUR TAX PAYER'S MONEY USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE! |
